Last year there are rumors about Toshiba is going to sell instant rechargeable battery. Well now this battery prototype has been shown to public.

While displaying this battery prototype called Super Charge Ion Battery (SCIB), the Japanese electronic company claimed that within 10 minutes, SCIB can be recharged up to 90 percent of its capacity. Quoted from ITnews, this battery is made from material that offer stability against high temperature and avoid overheating. SCIB is claimed to be able to be recharge up to five to six thousand times. While, lithium-ion battery will usually stand out only for 500 times recharge. Will this battery be the battery of the future gadget?? We’ll see

Moko, A Friendster-Like Site In Your Palm

Moko is a social networking service such as Friendster or Facebook. The difference is that Moko is designed to be enjoyed on the users palm, meaning from their cellphone. The site owned by Loop Mobile was launched on 21 July 2008. It is considered as the only social networking service that all its features can be accessed through cell phone and through the sites.

Moko has been integrated into 3 networks in Australia and England. This site basis is on its live chat features, then also on the profile pages like Facebook or Friendster and the ability to upload photos and videos. One of the Moko’s specialty is the same experience that the users will get when using this service through cell phone just like through computers. How Open Source Has Changed Microsoft

Even though Google is considered as one of very competitive threats for Microsoft, but the bigger scary thing that face Microsoft today is open source. This is at least what Microsoft’s Chief Software Architect, Ray Ozzie said at the Sanford C. Bernstein Strategic Decisions conference in New York. According to Ozzie, Google is a strong competitor, but the main threat for Microsoft business model is the open source. Open source programmers have greater power in software market nowadays.

So, why is open source considered as bigger threat for Microsoft? There are two reasons said Ozzie, first is that open source has strong foundation to face Microsoft. Google, Facebook, Yahoo are among open source’s ‘children’, and they are Microsoft competitors too. Second, the presence of open source change consumers perspective about a software value, to become US$0 aka free. Nevertheless, Ozzie said that open source has make Microsoft a stronger company. Want it or not, Microsoft has to change their business model to adapt with open source, such as making compatible softwares with open source products.
