Police Recruit Teens to Catch Cyber Criminal

Children and teens are often becoming cyber crime victims. However, now the police are using teens to help them fighting for that crimes. What are the reasons? A teenager at the age of 14 years old is involved in the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to help fighting the cyber crime. Approximately 20 teenagers start working together with the AFP to build a strategy of how to catch the cyber crime, predators and even terrorism acts.

Apart from Australian teens, this program also involves the American teens, Canada, England, and other 23 countries. Teenagers are considered the most appropriate tools to help identify the cyber crime including cyber bullying and identity stealing. Remembering that they are the victims also.

“We realize the effective way to catch them are by listening to the teens that are very closed to Internet,” said Kevin Zuccato, the high tech crime center head AFP. According to Zuccato, the teens are closed to the Internet. They shares information regarding languages in the chat room, jargon, and codes used by their phone sms.

“Teens help us to fight with crimes and give themselves the chance to make the right decisions when online. Through information they give, we can make a judgement so that can minimize the victims from cyber crimes,” said Zuccato, as quoted from Australian IT.
