Japanese Browser Ready to Tackle Firefox and IE

Japan apparently also wants to show their ability in the software business. A company in that sakura country is really on the go to promote browsers that can beat Firefox or Internet Explorer (IE).

A browser named Sleipnir is quite popular in Japan. The positive thing from this browser is on the design that can be easily changed according to the user’s desires. This browser can adopt Trident layout and Gecko which each can be used also by Microsoft and Firefox. With one click, user can choose between Trident and Gecko, according to the monitor and function of the accessed site.

It is a company, Fenrir in Osaka that develops Sleipnir since 2005. To get the interest from global internet users, it also launches the English version besides Japanese. According to Yasuhiro Miki, the global marketing director of Fenrir, they are doing this because the browser adoption is getting higher. In the next few years, Fenrir set quite an ambitious target, those are 17millions Sleipnir users around the world, and at present they only have 100.000 users.

Quoted from PCWorld, the 17 millions target means 5% Internet users with English language. And it is not only English, Fenrir also plan to release Sleipnir browser in Spanish and France language.
