Google Vs Airline, Who’ll Win?

In any business world, there are always many competition, whether it is fair or unfair. American Airlines has sued Google because they claimed that Google has break their trademark policy and give profits to its rivals.

However, this case was finally closed and both sides agree to pay each legal cost. While there was no winner in this contest, we can still say that Google has ‘won’ the case because they don’t have to pay any cent.The spoke person of both sides claimed that this issue has been dealt successfully and both were satisfied with the result.

In this case, American Airlines filed a legal suit against Google because of the appearance of American Airlines rival’s site when someone search for keyword AAdvantage in Google. Aadvantage is a registered trademark for frequent flyer program of American Airlines. The airline also said, the appearance of rivals sites can confuse their customers. Furthermore, it can shift customer to use their rival service.

However, Google denied with comparing promotion programs in supermarkets which usually gives coupons for certain products to customer who bought its competitor product. Another case is there are ads which placed side by side by two car companies, such as Ford and Chevrolet.

This is not the first time Google face the similar case. Before Google has managed to deal a legal case with Geico insurance company and American Blind & Wallpaper Factory Inc. retails.
