The competition between game consoles is getting hotter everyday. Each console maker is doing the best to make sure that their console is on the number one spot for selling. Sony with Playstation 3, Microsoft with XBox 360, and Nintendo Wii. With the competition gets higher, the consumers are gaining the profit. The price of the consoles are dropping, such as the case of the drop of XBox 360 price by US$50 recently, and Sony is planning to follow the same step as well soon.
This situation makes me want to buy a console. I’m thinking of buying Wii or Playstation 3, since I love playing soccer game and Playstation 3 has more excellent soccer games than XBox 360. Great choice with the PS3. The BluRay alone makes it more than worth it.
Oddly enough prices may continue to drop until the PS3 and Xbox 360 can install a large enough user base. They’re even introducing newer models (like the “new” Xbox with 60GB harddrive”) which are just attempts to try to hit better price ranges.
I read that they are losing money on every console sold, hoping to earn it back in the long run. The wii on the other hand has been making profit since day one and will most likely not drop prices.
All in all, for the first time, I really think consumers are winning in this console war.
