Nintendo Sue Five Companies to Court

The king of game console, Nintendo, is angry with some companies that importing and selling a device that can enable someone to use and play illegal game program in Nintendo DS.

As quoted from Reuters, Nintendo felt that they have suffered financial loss because of it, and decided to drag this five companies, which their name didn’t mentioned to the court of law.

Seems like Nintendo’s determination is not only a bluff, because the legal suit against those five companies has been registered into Tokyo District Court. The suit has been registered by Nintendo along with 54 other Japanese software companies.

Now You Can Be a Cheerleader Too

Usually we can only see cheerleaders doing their action at a cheers competition or a basketball game. But now, cheerleader can be enjoyed in a form of games, and can also act or move according what we want.

Namco Bandai launched a game called We Cheer in the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The cheerleader game which targets teenagers will be released for Wii console in September 2008. This game has lots of cheerful songs from top musicians such as Hillary DUff and KC & The Sunshine Band. In this game, Nunchuk and Willmote equipments are used to move two pom-pom cheers.

The cheerleader appearance can be change whatever you like. Everything, from top to toe, can be change according your preference. There are some game modules available, start from 1 person, 2 people, and up to a party of 4 people.

Buffy Slays Vampire in DS

Remember Buffy? The sexiest Vampire Slayer in TV series who had been so popular will slay vampires in Nintendo DS. 505 Games has made an agreement with Twentieth Century Fox to bring the TV series of ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Sacrifice’ to Nintendo DS.

The game is still being developed in Romanian Studio Beast at the moment. This game will combine first and third person game play with screen at bottom in Nintendo DS to see all the actions.

The script was written by Rob Des Hotel who also wrote all episodes of Buffy TV series. This game will have 24 level to complete, and provides more than 20 killing weapon. Quoted from Palgn, this game will have many characters like Spike, Angel, The Master, The First Evil and Caleb.

Rock Band 2 Is Ready To Rock

The sequel of one of the best seller music games, ‘Rock Band’ soon will be released to the market. The game developer already set the date in September 2008. The launching of Rock Band 2 in September means that it is a month earlier than their biggest rival in music games world, ‘Guitar Hero’. These two games basically have the same type, making music instruments as their main attraction to gamers.

Rock Band 2 was made involving some big companies, such as Electronic Arts, Harmonix Music Systems Inc, and MTV Games, which is one of Viacom Inc division. It is still to be known if the launch of Rock Band 2 will affect the selling of Grand Theft Auto IV.

Video Game Claimed Can Cure Autism

Playing games is not always have bad effect. In fact, by playing video game, it is claimed can help children who have autism to recover.

This is what researchers from University of Missouri said. Video game that can help children with autism is called “Space Race”. While playing this game, the children are asked to launch a rocket that is on the screen. The aim is to practice some parts of their brain to concentrate.

As quoted from TheInquirer, this curing process is called neurofeedback and done by sticking a censor in head skin. Concentration level will be measured with feedback audio visual that is displayed in the monitor, while brain activity will be displayed in other monitor.

With this process, we can discover that broken parts or dead parts of the brain can be fixed and reactivated. This game can also be used for brain trauma therapy, stroke, depression, alcoholic, or PMS.

Quit Smoking with Video Games

Once you smoke, it will be very hard to stop or quit, whereas we all know that the danger of smoking is not small. That is why, an interactive video game to stop smoking is under develop. So while you play an entertaining game, your smoking habit will soon disapear.

This game is developed by Ubisoft, and will be released on November 2008 for Nintendo DS console. The method for quit smoking that is used in this game is based by a book “Allen Carr’s Easyway To Stop Smoking”. You should know that this method has help millions of people quit smoking.

According to Ubisoft, in this game player will be asked to input their smoking history, then they can choose virtual training that can guide them controlling their smoking habit. There are total of 15 games that will use to avoid the nicotine addiction. Players can also view their progress on scale that is called “Path Of Freedom”. Players will actively interact in this game so the smoke addicts will know that quit smoking can be fun too.
