Toshiba Battery Prototype : 10 Minutes Charged & Up They Go

Last year there are rumors about Toshiba is going to sell instant rechargeable battery. Well now this battery prototype has been shown to public.

While displaying this battery prototype called Super Charge Ion Battery (SCIB), the Japanese electronic company claimed that within 10 minutes, SCIB can be recharged up to 90 percent of its capacity. Quoted from ITnews, this battery is made from material that offer stability against high temperature and avoid overheating. SCIB is claimed to be able to be recharge up to five to six thousand times. While, lithium-ion battery will usually stand out only for 500 times recharge. Will this battery be the battery of the future gadget?? We’ll see

Disposable Digital Camera

We might often see and even use a disposable camera but we sure haven’t seen a disposable digital camera?

Thanks to Plaza Create, Japan company who has invented a disposable digital camera. The good thing also, this disposable digital camera is made from the cell phone’s spare part that has been disposed by the owners such as LCD monitor, lens etc.

This way, the company even helps Japan government who are confused with the increasing cell phone rubbish in Japan, because in 2006, there were only 13% broken cell phones that can be recycled. This disposable digital camera is sold at around USD13,- for 27 clicks and USD 15 for 50 clicks.

Lenovo T40, Notebook With Methanol Battery Lasts 10hr

We probably heard about notebook which run by methanol gas but since now, the technology is only as theory and has not been realized till now.

The good news is, a join venture between PolyFuel company with Lenovo will soon release a notebook product with methanol gas energy. Lenovo T40 is the name of the notebook with methanol, or to be precise, Direct Methanol Furl Cell (DMFC) which methanol gas will be converted to electricity to run the notebook.

With this technology, the user can have lots of advantages from the use of methanol which can be refilled and the battery can run for 10 hours, compared to lithium battery which can only lasts for 3-4hours. When it will be sold? Let’s just pray that they can be successful with the research of this Lenovo T40.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11, A 1.5 Terrabyte Hardisk

Seagate has announced the launch of its latest desktop PC hard drive with 1.5 Terrabyte (TB) capacity, Barracuda 7200.11. This product is said to fulfill the never ended demand of bigger storage for digital storage. Barracuda 7200.11 is the eleventh generation of Seagate’s disk drive for desktop PC. This product is claimed to be the first who has the biggest jump of hard drive capacity in this half century of hard drive history, with 0.5 terrabyte bigger than previous capacity, 1 TB.

A Million Units of iPhone Have Been Sold In 3 Days

iPhone 3G made an excellent debut in its early presence. In 3 days the phone have been sold around a million units in some countries. Even Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs admitted that he could not believe that his new product can become that popular. Iphone 3G has attracted so much attentions in its week debut.

It took around 74 days to sell a million units of iPhone first generation. This iPhone 3G has made an amazing start around the world. It is true if we compare with its predecessor, iPhone 3G has so much more achievement. This is because iPhone first generation can only be sold around 270,000 units in its early debut.

However, we should remember that when iPhone 3G launched in the market, it was launched in some countries such as Japan, Hongkong, USA, and New Zealand at one time. While the predecessor, when it was born only been sold in United States and bundled with AT&T contract.

Moreover, the success of iPhone 3G debut doesn’t mean that everything went really well. This is related with global connection problem between iTunes server with AT&T network resulting the smartphone couldn’t be activated.

iPhone 3G Launching, Not As Smooth As It Seems

The Apple latest touchscreen phone have been officially sold at the same time on July, 11th. First buyers who had waited and slept in front of the Apple Store in Fifth Avenue, New York, was disappointed. The new iPhone 3G they bought could not be used right after they left the Apple because the gadget was not performing correctly. This issue is connected to global problem between iTunes server and AT&T so the iPhone can’t be activated.

Latest Eee PC Series, Eee PC 904

The success of its first generation of , 701, Asustek has more productive in producing the new brother of this Eee PC. From Asus site, they officially announced their latest model of Eee PC, Eee PC 904. It is not known yet when this latest generation of Eee PC will be available on the market. However, as quoted from Gadgetell, Asus has claimed that the laptop will be available soon.

Eee PC 904 is equipped with 8.9 inch screen with resolution of 1024 x 600, Celeron M 900MHz processor, RAM 1GB,  80GB hard drive, battery power up to five hours, operation system, and weight that is claimed less than 1.4 kgs.

One of the bonus point from Eee PC 904 is the keyboard which is more comfortable with bigger layout than its predecessor, Eee PC 1000. Eee PC 904 will be sold in retails with price tagged at US$535 and predicted to be available in England in Mid July, then other countries.

Wow, Optical Disk With 400 GB Capacity!

So many technology companies seem to compete developing storage media with giant capacity.

Such as the Japanese electronic company, Pioneer who announced that they are developing an optical disc with super big capacity, 400GB. There is none optical disc with the capacity that big in the current market.

Pioneer explained, the disc will have 16 layers with each layer able to contain data as big as 25GB, the same capacity as one side of Blu ray disc’s capacity. Pioneed disc also claimed to be compatible with Blu ray player.

As quoted from InformationWeek, Pioneer said their reason to build the disc is that the growing needs of big capacity storage media. Pioneer is set to launch this disc’s technology detail at the International Symposium of Optical Memory and Optical Data Storage on July, 13th in Hawaii. We still don’t know when the disc will be available in the market.
