Blogging Can Put You In Death Penalty!

Bloggers in Iran might be very anxious right now. Because, a new rule have been discussed by Iran parliament, which stated that bloggers who are against this rule will get a death penalty. So scary indeed!
In that new rule about this online activity, a blogger or a webmaster who is found promoting crimes such as corruption, prostitution or insulting a religion will be executed. Actually, Iranian bloggers has been in extreme surveillance for a while. In 2005, a blogger named Mojtaba Saminejad was charged for insulting a religion and he was almost executed. Nevertheless he successfully escaped from the punishment.
Blogging has been a popular activity in Iran. Even Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is reported to have his own blog.
As quoted from Jerusalem Post, Iranian people love to blog with persian language. They also follow world’s trend, such as micro blogging. Seems that the tight surveilance from their government doesn’t affect them very much.
