Apple Is Now In Third Place

Apple is getting stronger in the PC business competition. A survey revealed that Apple is now successfully ahead of Acer, and has been the third biggest PC vendor in USA.

As quoted from Gartner, while the economy’s pace is getting slower, the shipping of Apple PCs is raising about 38.1 percent in United States.

Globally, the PC shipment in America grows around 4.2 percent in amount of 16.5 million units for this quarter. Just as comparison, Apple shipped 1.4 million units of PC, while Acer shipped 1.33 millions. On the top of the list is Dell, which shipped around 5.25 millions PC units, then HP is in the runner up.

Apple is hoping to have a bigger growth in the next quarter. It’s hoped that in the third quarter, PC shipment for students who are back to school will be stronger. Furthermore, Apple is also targetting PC buyers who dissapointed with lack of innovation in PC markets. Compares to HP and Dell, Apple has only a very small market, but has a big potential to grow. In Japan, Apple also shows a solid development, by shipping 130 thousand PC units in the first quarter of 2008
