15 Things Restricted on Google Maps
Actually there are many places in this world that are not allowed to be seen through Google Earth or Google Maps. This thing is related with many reasons, either for security reasons, privacy, or even politics. The following are 15 places that cannot be accessed through Google facility.
Government and Military Places
1.White House: Digital pictures from White House has been deleted, this thing is done to hide the air security facility and other security assets which is used to secure this place.
2.Soesterberg Air Base, in Netherland: This is a basic from the Netherland’s air force which also was used as the basis for F-15 , The American Air force at the Cold War.
3.Reims Air Base in France: this place is the only building in the area of Reims Air Base that is vagued.
4.Nato C3 Agency: Located in Brussels, Belgium. C3 Agency supports NATO in many scientific things and which are related with C4ISR (Consultant, Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance).
5.Huis Ten Bosch Palace: This place is one of the four main residences from the Netherland Kingdom Family, which is located in The Hague, Netherland, Beatrix Queen lives in this place since 1981.
Places with Certain Politic Purposes
1.Iran: In 2007 last year, a businessman from Iran tried to download Google Earth but he received a message: “Thank you for your attention, but the product you are trying to download is not available for your country”.
2.Central Asia: This place is vagued by Google Earth because this is a sensitive area that is related with the country’s politics matters, such as Tibet or Xinjiang province, the north Pakistan and kingdom region.
3.Middle/East Yona village, in Pacific Island Guam: It is not clear what is the reason this area is being censored.
4.The Boring Home: Aaron and Christine Boring in Franklin Park Pa claimed that Google Maps with Street View features have broken their privacy. Boring Family said that their house pictures have to be deleted and their house road is to be labeled “Private Road”.
5.Utrecht in Netherland: is a place that has a relation with an old ancient city which was used for the religion center for The Netherlands since the 8th century.
University and Research Laboratorium
1.Massachussetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory: Lincoln Laboratory is a research place that is used for federal purposes and is a high level development technology center to solve national security matters in America
2.Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory: This research and development center is used to support Naval Nuclear Propulsion program, with many research activities, designs, builds, controls and maintains America’s nuclear battle ships.
3.Manhattanville College’s Dammann and Tenney Dormitories: Manhattanville University which is located in New York is vagued because it is located closed to some head of giant companies, such as PepsiCo Incs, Texaco and MasterCard.
4.Stony Brook University: This university is vagued from Google maps because this building is the center of Brorkhaven National Laboratory.
5.Saint Louis School in Honolulu: Only specific buildings that can be seen from this place, such as soccer field or sports centers whereas others cannot be seen.

this is pretty cool. i didnt know there are places on earth that are hidden while browsing with google earth. I can’t say its a bad thing but they should have let them go at least not in real time, or simply removed from the map.
